Invoice retainage only for prime contract

Before you start, see Add invoice for unit-price prime contract with billed quantities. This article describes option B for step 2 from that article.

Retainage is stored and tracked by job cost cod,e not by unit price item.
Typically, retainage is released in a separate invoice after all work is complete according to specifications.
Retainage is also knows as retention or holdback.

Release retainage for individual job cost codes

For each Job Cost Code, enter a value in the Work Retainage Release Amount field.
Click the Save and Next button.

Release retainage for multiple job cost codes at the same time

To release retainage for multiple job cost codes at the same time, use the bulk action feature. The amount or percentage must be the same for all of the cost codes.

Select the job cost codes.
Click the Choose bulk action button.
Select one of the options below and enter an amount.
- Work Retainage Release Amount
- Work Retainage Release % (100% = 100)
Click the Save button.

This populates the Work Retainage Release Amount and saves the values in the system.
Click the Skip button.

The retainage release amounts were already saved in the prior step.
