Scheduling Functions - Adding Tasks and Child Tasks

Adding Tasks At The Bottom
- Click the 'Add Task' button
on the Toolbar .
- Navigate to the bottom of the grid where the new row is shown.
- Enter the Task Description.
- Select a Start Date. This is required before entering a Duration!
- Enter the Duration in days. This will automatically set the End Date.
- Optional: Enter a Completion Percentage (ex. 10% = 10) if the task has already started.
- Optional: Enter a Predecessor (see examples at bottom). This will reset the Start Date upon saving.
- Repeat prior steps for additional tasks.
- Click the 'Save' button
on the Toolbar.
Inserting Tasks Between Existing Tasks
- Select a task where another task needs to be added immediately ABOVE.
- Right-click the mouse.
- Select 'Add new row'. This will add a blank row ABOVE the highlighted task.
- Enter the Task Description.
- Select a Start Date. This is required before entering a Duration!
- Enter the Duration in days. This will automatically set the End Date.
- Optional: Enter a Completion Percentage (ex. 10% = 10) if the task has already started.
- Optional: Enter a Predecessor (see examples at bottom). This will reset the Start Date upon saving.
- Click the 'Save' button
on the Toolbar.
Inserting Child Tasks
- Select the parent task.
- Click the 'Add Child Task' button
on the Toolbar .
- Enter the Task Description.
- Select a Start Date.
- Enter the Duration in days. This will automatically set the End Date. This is required before entering a Duration!
- Optional: Enter a Completion Percentage (ex. 10% = 10) if the task has already started.
- Optional: Enter a Predecessor (see examples at bottom). This will reset the Start Date upon saving.
- Click the 'Save' button
on the Toolbar.
Predecessor Reference Examples
Predecessor Task ID = 19:
- FS with lag 0: 19
- FS with lag 2: 19+2
- SS with lag 3: 19SS+3
- FF with lag 1: 19FF+1
