Import color and finish for estimate and work items

When importing estimate or work items from a Microsoft Excel file, you can now specify color and finish details directly in the file, reducing the need for manual entry.

Details

For estimate items, the following fields are supported:

• ItemColor

• ItemFinish

For work items, the following fields are supported:

• Color

• Finish

These fields can be included as columns in your import file to capture the item attributes.

How it works

1. Prepare the Microsoft Excel file with the standard required fields for estimate or work items.

2. Add the new columns:

   1. For estimate items, add the ItemColor and ItemFinish columns.

   2. For work items, add the Color and Finish columns.

3. Import the file as usual.

4. To view the imported values, do the following:

   1. For estimate items, within the estimate, go to the Items tab, select the appropriate item from the list, and select the Manufacturer Info tab.

      

   2. For work items, in the Cost DB open the work item and go to the Manufacturer Information section.
