Edit a submittal
Edit the submittal header information
- At the submittal listing page, click on the submittal number to view the details.
- Select Edit.
- Enter of modify the information under the following sections as needed:
- General Information
- Originator
- Coordinated By
- Overall Description
- Response Workflow
You can enable the response workflow and specify its type.
- Status
You can update the company that is currently responsible to either the originator or one of the respondents, or mark the submittal as closed.
- Select Save or Save & Close.
Add or edit the submittal items
- In the Submittal Details page, go to the Submittal Items section.
- To add a submittal item, select Add / Import Items > Add Manually.
- To edit the item number, date, and status fields only, do the following:
- Select Edit List.
- Enter or modify the information in the fields as needed.
- Select Save.
- To edit all the information for a submittal item, do the following:
- Select the submittal number from the list.
- In the Submittal Item Details form, update any of the following fields as needed:
- Description, quantity, and manufacturer information.
- References, such as prime contract number, subcontract number, and so on.
- Due date, received date, and status response date from the originator.
- Date that the material is required on site, as well as lead, design review, and internal review times.
- Delivery dates for the material.
- Item status and status date.
- To edit the next submittal item, select Save & Next; otherwise select Save or Save & Close.
- To edit multiple submittal items simultaneously, do the following:
- Select one or more submittal items from the list.
- Select Choose Bulk Action.
- In the popup, enter or modify the following information as needed:
- Manufacturer information fields:
- Manufacturer
- Manufacturer Part #
- UPC
- References:
- Prime Contract #
- CPR / CO #
- Subcontract #
- SCO #
- Drawing
- Location
- Spec. Section
- Other
- Originator dates:
- Due From Originator
- Rec'd From Originator
- Status Sent To Originator
- Status related fields:
- Status
- Status Date
- Delete
- Manufacturer information fields:
- Select Save.
Import drawings as submittal items
If you're going to submit drawings to the architect or owner for approval, you can include them in the submittal to automate the process.
- In the Submittal Details page, go to the Submittal Items section.
- Select Add / Import Items > Import Drawing.
The Submittals - Import Drawings page opens.
- Optional: Specify the From and To Dates, and select Filter to refine the results based on the selected date range.
- Optional: Use the Search field to filter the results.
- Select one or more drawings from the list and select Add or Add & Close.
Add or edit respondents
- In the Submittal Details page, go to the Respondents section.
- To add a company and contact to the respondents, do the following:
Companies and contacts referenced in the submittal must exist in the Contact Management and be listed in the project directory before they can be imported into the submittal.
- Select Import Company / Contact.
- Optional: Enter a Response Due Date.
- Optional: Use the Search field to filter the results.
- Select the companies and contacts that will respond to the submittal from the list.
- Select Add or Add & Close.
- To enter or modify the Order Number, Sent Date, Response Due Date, and Responded Date fields only, do the following:
- Select Edit.
- Update any of the fields as needed.
- Select Save.
- To enter or modify company related information, including the response, do the following:
- Select the company from the respondents list.
- In the Submittal Respondent Details form, update any of the date and response fields as needed.
- Select Save or Save & Close.
Add CC recipients
You can add companies and contacts as CC recipients that will receive the email with the submittal details. However, CC recipients are not able to respond online.
- In the Submittal Details page, select Import Company / Contact under the CC Recipients section.
- Select the companies and contacts from the list.
- Select Add & Close.
Upload or link additional files
You can upload or link files, such as images or PDF documents, that are relevant to the submittal record.

In the Submittal Details page, go to the Linked Files section.

To upload files from your local drive, select one or more files from your drive and drag them to the Drag files here area within the Linked Files section.
Alternatively, select Add to find and upload files from your local drive.
- To link existing files that have already been uploaded to Sage Construction Management, do the following under the Linked Files section:
- Select Link Existing and select one of the following options:
- Drawings & Specs
- Photos
- All other records
- Optional: Select the Feature Name to filter the results, if applicable.
- Select one or more files from the list.
- Select Link & Close.
- Select Link Existing and select one of the following options:
